What a pretty blue planet the earth is!

South of the Iberian peninsula. A sand storm leaves North Afrida and the Canary Islands

Amidst this huge sand storm is NO-FLY weather for aircraft, which are grounded

Strait of Gibraltar

Critical terrain opening holds control over the Mediterranean Sea: British understood this, Germans did not and they lost WW2

Night arrives over Europe and Northern Africa

The obvious Calais landing spot and actual Normandy landing locations visible south of England, amazing how the lack of black-out results in city lighting visible all the way into space

The Swiss Alps

This rugged terrain enables the Swiss to keep independent of the world's squabbles

Iceland

Wonder how much "Ice" is on Iceland today thanks to Global Warming?

The Black Sea

The narrow Dardanelle Straits are visible; the WW1 Gallipoli amphibious disaster was over Black Sea access

The Red Sea

To reach the Red Sea from the Med, the Suez canal was built visible to the right of the green fertile marshes of Egypt

Earth Man-Made Lighting Visible from Space

Funny how asshole anti-God astronomer Carl Sagan declared that no signs of life on earth are visible from space, huh?

Where there is light, there is civilization, where there is civilization is people

Yet Africa is not called the "dark" continent for no reason

Clearly, Japan and Europse are the most brightly lit...but India and China's lights are growing and so are their energy needs...will this hunger lead to war?

The Australian outback (not the Steak house) still looks like a good place to get away from it all...

Want to pay the light bill for this group of people?

Isn't it Magnificent? Want to Keep it?
