RANGER SKED PATIENT/EQUIPMENT DRAG
SK-240

Brochure

Instructions

The Ranger Sked, designed by the Army Rangers, is used as a patient or equipment drag. It is tough, durable, lightweight and extremely versatile. It measures 22.5 inch x 8 ft x .100 inch thickness and rolls up into a compact 7 inch diameter and 22.5 inch length. It is not designed for hoisting by helicopter. It is either carried by the six sewn-on webbing handles or dragged using the 3/8" tow rope.

It has five cross straps that fasten with steel buckles, six carrying handles (sewn on), and a 12 foot long rope with a plastic tube handle for dragging. The rope can be adjusted to shorter lengths by pulling it farther through the grommets and tying the overhand knots farther from the ends of the rope. The Ranger Sked is rolled up for storage with a retainer strap to keep it rolled.

Available in Coyote Brown.

SKEDCO Kosmo MOUT Lifeline

The MOUT rescue line invented by U.S. Army Major Andrew Kosmowski enables individual Soldiers to rescue themselves or a buddy from the line-of-fire from protective cover. The MOUT lifeline can also be used for emergency rappels.

SKEDCO Military & Civilian Air/Land/Sea Rescue & Resupply System

An easily-transported roll of thick friction-defeating plastic enables rescue of wounded Soldiers and delivery of vital supplies by ground towing by just one other person as a sled. The SKEDCO also acts as a multi-function litter for transport of wounded persons or supplies inside air, ground or sea craft. The SKEDCO rescue & resupply system can be hoisted by a vertical take-off and landing aircraft from a hover by powered winch or rappel rope lowered and raised manually during mountain rescue and climbing operations.

Special Rescue Methods

SKEDCO rescue/resupply litters can also be made to float to rescue persons in the water or be towed by combat swimmers bearing supplies and equipment. In confined spaces like on board ships and in industrial machinery, SKEDCOs are the best means to rescue injured persons without aggravating their condition.

SKEDCO Oregon Spine Splint

In some incidents the casualty has neck and spine injuries THAT MUST be immobilized before rescue by SKEDCO sliding plastic/carry litter. The best upper body immobilizer is the Oregon Spine Splint which is explained in the videos below.

HAZ-MAT/WMD SKED "SkyHook" Powered, Mechanized Rescue System

Homeland accidents with hazardous material (HAZ-MAT) or attacks using weapons of mass destruction (WMD) like chemical, biological or nuclear weapons could demand rescue workers to wear protective clothing that generally impairs breathing. Manually carrying or even SKEDCO sliding casualties could rapidly exhaust rescue personnel possibly causing them to go down as heat stroke or heat exhaustion casualties, compounding the already tragic situation. SKEDCO has the "SkyHook" powered sliding rescue system available to rapidly remove casualties from contaminated areas and preserve the physical powers of first responders.

Hoisting Mechanisms

SKEDCO offers rescue tripods to hold SKEDCO rescue/resupply litters for vertical insertion/extractions into wells, mine shafts and sink holes.
