THE FUTURE FACE OF BATTLE: STRATEGIC LEVEL

"How long, O Lord, Holy and True, dost thou not judge and avenge our blood on them that dwell on the earth?"

Revelation 6:10

People fight wars and people live in CITIES

A noted U.S. Army Weapons Developer writes:

"Thanks for the article by Peters. Good read. It also appeared in either Army Times or Defense News (I do not recall which).

What I liked about it that he only mentions one "materiel solution" in the need for "thermal or post thermal sights" for each Soldier. The rest of the article addresses doctrine, training, organization, leader development, and Soldier survivability. A non-techno geek assessment.

One part that he alluded to that could be developed further (I know, editorial limits; I'm not criticizing his paper) is the real meaning of 'info dominance' in such an environment. We need to have readily available the city plans, to include sewer lines, electrical conduits and service tunnels, power grid layout, water supply and distribution, city bus and trolley barn locations, sanitation and street repair facilities, radio and TV sites, microwave relay tower locations, gasoline stations, gas lines, airports, drawbridge classification, train and subway tunnel clearances, subbasements and cellars of skyscrapers, etc., etc. Forget about all of the hi-tech junk. This is all available info, but must be gathered, sifted, collated, and KEPT UP TO DATE!!"
