The U.S. Army has the largest helicopter fleet in the world yet with no organized rotary-wing Air-Mech-Strike capability.
For example:
A British “Airmobile” (Airmechanized) brigade, conducted an air-mech strike by helicopters over Serbian minefields in Kosovo following the air campaign in July 1999, and established their sector in only 24 hours. See photos on the next slide.
The U.S. Army having no such organized capability took several days to fully occupy its sector.
